Created in 2023, 51 Wines started its wine offering with a selection of wine from the Bordeaux region.

From the start, our goals have been to bringing the finest selection of Bordeaux wines. We created our wine selection to answer the needs and wants of our customers base and therefore we have made it clear from the start, we offer a broad collection for all.

At 51 Wines, we are passionate about bringing the finest French wines and spirits to the UK. Our journey began with a love for exceptional wines from Bordeaux and then beyond.
Today, we offer a curated selection of wines, rum liqueurs, and gourmet French food mainly instore in our welcoming wine bar in Wellingborough.

At 51Wines, our journey began with a simple truth: great wine has the power to bring people together. Long before we opened our shop or created a wine list, we were gathering around tables with friends and family, sharing stories over a glass of something meaningful — something that spoke of where it came from.

That passion took root in personal experiences: lazy Sunday lunches stretching into the afternoon in Bordeaux with impromptu apéro with a vigneron who insisted we try his newest cuvée; the quiet magic of walking through the vineyard, soil still damp from the night’s rain. These weren’t just wines — they were glimpses into French life, tradition, and savoir-faire.

That passion stayed with us. It grew into late-night tastings, visits to hidden vineyards in the Loire, conversations with independent growers in the Rhône, and moments of pure discovery in the cellars of Champagne and Burgundy. We weren’t just collecting bottles — we were collecting memories, connections, and a deep respect for the people behind each vintage.

Today, that spirit lives on in everything we do. We are wine professionals, yes — trained, knowledgeable, and meticulous about quality. But more than that, we’re enthusiasts who get genuinely excited about the right wine with the right meal, or the joy of someone discovering their new favourite bottle. We believe wine shouldn’t be intimidating. It should be shared, enjoyed, and talked about with the same ease as catching up with an old friend.
