Compagnie Beaujolaise – Beaujolais-Villages 2024
Grape Variety
- 100% Gamay
Description
Produced by Compagnie Beaujolaise, a cooperative of passionate winemakers dedicated to expressing the authentic character of Beaujolais, this Beaujolais-Villages comes from selected hillside vineyards in the northern part of the region. Crafted using traditional Beaujolais winemaking techniques, including semi-carbonic maceration, it captures the freshness, fruit purity and charm that have made Gamay one of France's most enjoyable red grape varieties. The result is a vibrant, approachable wine that offers considerably more depth and character than many everyday reds while remaining incredibly easy to drink.

Olivier's Thoughts
This is exactly the type of wine I reach for when I want something uncomplicated but genuinely enjoyable. Beaujolais-Villages often sits in the sweet spot between the lighter Beaujolais wines and the more serious Crus, offering fantastic fruit, freshness and versatility. What I particularly like about this wine is its purity — juicy cherries, raspberries and soft tannins make it incredibly approachable, yet it still has enough structure to accompany food beautifully.
If you think red wine always needs to be powerful and full-bodied, this bottle is a great reminder that elegance and drinkability can be just as rewarding. Slightly chilled on a summer evening, paired with charcuterie, roast chicken or simply shared amongst friends, it is a wine that consistently over-delivers and represents outstanding value for money.
