Domaine Lieubeau Chardonnay 2024
Grape Variety
- 100% Chardonnay
Description
Produced by Domaine Lieubeau in the Loire Valley, this Chardonnay comes from organically farmed vineyards rooted in granite soils around Clisson. The combination of low yields, cool Atlantic influences and careful winemaking results in a Chardonnay that balances freshness with richness. Partial oak ageing and several months on lees add texture and complexity without overpowering the fruit, creating a wine that offers a distinctive Loire interpretation of this internationally renowned grape variety.

Olivier's Thoughts
This wine is a great example of why Chardonnay remains one of the world's most versatile grape varieties. What I particularly enjoy here is the balance. You get the richness and texture that Chardonnay lovers seek, but also the freshness and mineral character that the Loire Valley delivers so naturally. The subtle oak influence adds complexity without dominating the wine, making it approachable and food-friendly. If you enjoy white Burgundy but are looking to discover something a little different and excellent value, this Chardonnay is well worth exploring.
