Olivier's Thoughts
This is exactly the sort of wine I enjoy opening when the occasion calls for something uncomplicated, fresh and genuinely enjoyable. It has all the charm that makes Gamay such an underrated grape variety: bright red fruit, soft tannins and wonderful drinkability. While many people immediately think of Beaujolais when they hear Gamay, this Burgundy expression offers a slightly different perspective, combining freshness with a touch more elegance.
I particularly like serving it slightly cool alongside charcuterie, roast chicken or a relaxed lunch with friends. It's the kind of bottle that disappears far quicker than expected because everyone keeps going back for another glass. An excellent introduction to lighter French reds and outstanding value for everyday drinking.
